The death toll in the worst building collapse in Bangladesh history today rose to 375 even as the fugitive owner of the 8-storey structure was arrested from Benapole frontiers while attempting to flee to India.
Bangladeshi police charged 41 people, including the owner of the Rana Plaza factory complex with murder over the building's collapse in 2013.
Surat police commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot identified the arrested accused as Maulvi Sohel Abubakr Timol (27), who worked at a thread factory as a manager and offered private tuition on Islam to Muslim children.
Fire at the factory was still not doused completely more than 48 hours after the tragedy struck ahead of Eid festival.
